How To Remove Search History

The search history in your browser can allow other people to look at the terms that you searched for. This can invade your privacy, especially if there are plenty of people using your computer. You can easily remove the search history on your web browser right after using it so that you can clear all your search queries and it will not be viewed by other people. Find out how to do this with different web browsers with the steps provided below.

* Google Chrome. Google Chrome is the web browser from Google. If you are using this web browser, click on the ‘Web History’ section on the ‘My Account’ page. Select ‘Remove items’ and then you will be brought to the edit mode of your account where you can manually remove the search history items on your web browser. You can select only some of the websites or all of the websites if you want. Now the search history of your Google Chrome browser has been deleted.
* Internet Explorer. For Internet Explorer users, open your IE web browser. On the top of the browser window, look for the ‘Tools’ tab on the menu. Click on it and then select ‘Delete Browsing History’ from the drop down menu that will appear. Afterwards, click on the ‘Delete history’ button. A confirmation window will appear asking you if you want to go through with the removal of the browser history web pages. Click on the ‘Yes’ option and the browser history will be removed.
* Safari. Open your Safari web browser. Look for the ‘History’ menu on top of the window. Click on the option and then a new menu will appear. Click on the ‘Clear History’ option on the menu to clear the web browser of all the searches and websites that you have visited.
* Mozilla Firefox. Launch your Mozilla Firefox web browser. On top of the page, there are tabs for the settings of the browser window. Click on the ‘Tools’ tab on top of the page. Choose ‘Clear Recent History’ on the drop down menu that will appear. You have several options when you clear the browsing history. You can choose to clear all the history or choose to clear the history for the recent days, months or weeks. After selecting your choices, click on the ‘Clear Now’ button to remove your search history.
* Opera. Open your Opera browser window. On the options at the top of the page, click on ‘Tools’. Select ‘Delete Private Data’ from the options that appear on the drop down menu. A new window will appear on the screen where you can select the private data that you want to be removed. Make sure that there is a check mark on the box beside ‘Clear history of visited pages’. Confirm the action by clicking on the ‘Delete’ button.
