MSN Writing Styles

Microsoft Network is also known as MSN for short. MSN is also known as Windows Live Messenger. Messenger is a software program that can be downloaded for free and is used to chat, video conference, and even file share with other users. The software allows you to change personal preferences to customize your writing.

Slang or Acronyms
1. For those that frequently write online, there are many slang or acronyms that are used to make messages shorter and quicker. For instance, LOL stands for Laugh Out Loud, and BRB is an acronym for Be Right Back. Other common slang terms include SMH, for Shaking My Head, and G2G is short for Got To Go. These slang words make it easier to have online communication quickly and easily.

Font
2. MSN also allows the user to change the font just as a word processor would do. The user can choose a font that reflects the writer's own style and also change the size and even the color. MSN has all the common fonts like Times New Roman.

Emoticon
3. Emoticons are created by using letters and punctuation to make faces that show emotions. For instance, if a user types :), it is translated as a happy face. MSN has gone one step forward and created actual graphics that are shown when the correct letters or symbols are typed. For instance, when :) is typed it will actually show as a smiling face to the recipient. There are a variety of emoticons available but some more common ones are ;) for winking and :( for frowning.

Free Programs
4. There are programs available online that can change your text into fun, different font styles. Depending on the program, you can often type in text and it will convert it into a message that is done with different symbols. You then copy and paste this new version of the message into your MSN for a fun way to communicate.
