How To Use Google Checkout

Internet shopping is the current trend! With the availability of the Internet, thousands of products are posted each day, either for review or for sale. People are spending more time on the Internet and busy schedules decrease time for mall shopping. As the convenience of shop from home becomes apparent, it is understandable that you are still feeling reluctant on giving away your credit card number and other information over the Internet.

Credit card fraud. Cases of credit card fraud are rampant. In the dawn of modern technology, it becomes so easy to use vital information, such as credit card details, to commit crimes. If you are feeling edgy on giving away your own details, then this should not stop you from shopping over the Internet. There are numerous ways wherein you can pay for your purchases. There’s PayPal, and there’s Google Checkout.

* Google Checkout. Google initially launched Checkout in the United States in 2007; a year after, Checkout was made available in the United Kingdom. Google Checkout simplifies the online buying process. Most online shops would require users to create an account, which will require you to input your personal details and credit card information. While creating user accounts does not necessarily equate to being unsafe, the process itself can be time consuming. Google developed Checkout in order to allow users to create just one user account – a Google Checkout account. Whether you wish to buy from just one store or multiple stores online, you will have to register into one account. Apart from having a single user account, Google also protects your information and will not give it to the sellers. In effect, Google act as the mediator between you – the buyer, and the seller.

* The buying process. If you are not itching to buy something online, then now is the best time to learn how to use Google Checkout. The first thing that you need to check is if the seller you intend to purchase from is a Google merchant. A merchant refers to a seller that is enrolled in the Google Checkout system. To find out if the seller is a merchant, you can check out the shopping cart that is on the screen. You can see the modes of payment accepted by the seller. There could be several credit card types, PayPal and of course, Google Checkout. If you find the Google Checkout as part of the seller’s accepted mode of payment, then you are in luck. You can start adding items to your shopping cart. Make sure you input correct quantities of the products that you want to purchase.
* The checkout process. Once you are done with your shopping, checkout by choosing the “Google Checkout” on the payment options. You will need to log in using your Checkout account. If you are not yet registered, you will need to register by filling out the Checkout form. This is a one-time registration so take some time to fill it out. If you do not wish to share your e-mail address to the merchant, simply click on the box that keeps your address confidential. Once you log in using your Checkout account, you can proceed with your order. Double-check the quantity of your ordered materials. If you do not find anything weird on it, then conclude your shopping session.

That’s it! Online shopping made extremely convenient. Google Checkout also allows you to track your purchases. Check if your purchases have been shipped out so that you can anticipate delivery.
