How To Use Dell Customer Service to Repair Your Computer Remotely

Dell makes remote computer repair possible with DellConnect service. Dell calls this service revolutionary, which makes pretty sense, since this allows Dell users to have quick and expert solutions to computer problems via the Internet. This is how it is done: You tell Dell you have a problem with your computer, and a Dell support agent will analyze your computer, make diagnosis, and fix the problem. * Download the DellConnect software. You can download the software from the DellConnect Terms and Conditions page in the Dell’s official website. Read and agree to the Dell Software License Agreement, which is also available on the same page. Downloading will begin after you click the “I Agree” button on the right pane of the screen. Complete the downloading process. After this, choose whether to run or install the software.
* Talk to a Dell support agent when a problem with your Dell computer arises. A stable and fast Internet connection is necessary in contacting a Technical Support agent. You can contact an agent by email or chat. Make sure to provide the agent with the necessary details about your computer problem. Aside from email and chat, you can also phone the Technical Support team.
* Let the troubleshooting begin. Upon your agreement, the Dell agent will access your system to start the remote repair session. He will employ one of four ways to fix your problem. Depending on the method he chooses, you can view what the agent does and sees in your computer. For example, if the agent chooses the File/Registry method, you can reject or accept his actions. You can also hide any file you don’t want him to gain access to. If he chooses to do the Analyzing method, he will get a full view of your computer configuration, but you won’t know what the agent sees in your computer. In the Control method, you allow the agent to control your system and to make some modifications if necessary while monitoring what he sees. The same viewing feature is available in the View method, but the agent is only allowed to make instructions on your computer screen and can’t make modifications in your system.
* Try your computer. Your computer should be okay after the remote repair session. Run a test, and see if the problem was solved. If not, try to contact the technical Support team again.
* Remove the software if necessary. In case you need to delete DellConnect from your computer, you can do so by accessing Control Panel. Press the Start button and click Control Panel. Then select Add or Remove Programs. Wait as the computer lists the programs installed in your computer. Find GTRemote. Click it to select. Click the Remove button after.
