How To Stop Other Windows Opening with Spyware Software

One of the most annoying things about spyware is that it can cause popups to open while you are browsing the web, or even while you are just going through the folders in your computer. Naturally, you can close the windows one by one, but unless you eradicate the spyware in your computer, chances are that the popups will continue opening. Here are some tips on how you can stop other windows from opening by using spyware software:

* Antimalware. Start by installing an antimalware program in your computer, as well as an antivirus program if you still don’t have one. One of the best places for you to browse for these types of software is CNET, which comes with professional reviews from CNET’s editors themselves, as well as user reviews. This way, you will have an idea of how a particular program will run even before you download it and install it in your computer. Remember that you only need one antivirus program running your computer, but you can install more than one antimalware program.
* Download and install. Next, download the programs. Remember, there are some antimalware programs that are available for free, while there are others that must be paid. Check out Super Antispyware or SAS, as well as Malwarebytes Antimalware, or MBAM. These are free programs that work great in detecting spyware and malware in your computer. They have free versions as well as paid versions. Once the programs are downloaded, simply run and install the programs in your computer and then scan your computer for spyware.
* Browser. Next, choose your browser carefully. Since most spyware and malware are transmitted through the Internet, you should make sure that you have a browser that helps you prevent yourself from getting into dangerous websites that are infected. Browsers such as Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome are excellent for this, since they have a list of websites that are blocked and will automatically warn you if you are being led to these websites.
* Popup and ad blocker. A browser alone, however, cannot warn you about all websites, since there are new websites with viruses being created each day. You should also install popup and ad blockers in your browser. Whether you are using Firefox or Chrome, you should be able to find add-ons to prevent popups and ads. By preventing ads and popups from opening in your page, you will no longer be tempted to click on these ads and popup boxes. Sometimes, clicking on these will cause viruses to be downloaded in your computer.
* WOT. Finally, install the Web of Trust add-on in your browser. This add-on will place a small round icon on all the links displayed in browser. If the icon is green, this means that the link is clean, and if the icon is red, this means that the link is dangerous and there have been reported instances of viruses from that particular website.

With these steps in mind, you should be able to prevent windows and popups from opening in your computer and in your web browser.
