How To Set the Import Format in iTunes

Setting a revolutionary trend in media applications, iTunes has been welcomed by enthusiasts in the digital world. iTunes offers varied functions that enable users to subscribe to musical selections of various genres. Subscription to iTunes also features other tasks such as organizing video files and digital music and transfer contents from one computer to other Apple products like iPhone, iPod and the latest – iPad. Another useful aspect of iTunes is the ability to import selections from CDs or those that are saved in your computer and other devices like your iPod. With the import format available for iTunes, you can transport your music files according to the file size and quality of your choice.

There are different import format options from iTunes. If you want to set an import format, here are the steps:

* Install iTunes in your computer. If your computer has not been pre-installed with iTunes, you can download this feature from the Internet or use a software installer. Be sure your computer is equipped with the required capacity and port to be able to store and play iTunes. Set up the installation in a short cut fashion by dragging its icon to your desk top. With the icon readily visible on your desk top, all you need to do is click the image and you are instantly transported to iTunes in your computer.
* Initiate iTunes. Click on the icon on your desk top or look for the port in your Windows. However, be aware of the difference in the Operating Systems between Apple computers and Windows-run computers. Most computers are run by Windows while Apple computers are run by an exclusive OS.
* Select the corresponding options leading to iTunes. For Mac (Apple) users, select “Preferences” from the menu in iTunes. On the other hand, for Windows users, click on the “Edit” button and the “Preferences” option in the menu bar. Go to the “Advanced” option and select the “Importing” label right under the first tab.
* Proceed to audio format. Click the “Import Using” option on the menu (pop-up for Mac) or from Windows (drop-down menu). From this step, make your choice of audio format you wish to use.
* Establish the bit rate in your iTunes. If available in your computer, select the bit rate for your iTunes. Deviate from the given bit rate and select a different one. Go to the “Setting” and click the “Custom” option. Click the “Custom” option to switch bit rates and channels. You can execute this task in the pop-up menus. Finish by pressing the ‘OK’ button.
* Make alterations on the settings for the encoder. For example, you can make the bit rate higher for maximum audio experience. Adjustments vary with the format of your file.
* Play sample songs while importing. To be sure you are on the right track in setting up the import format in your iTunes, randomly play the songs you have finished importing while waiting for other selections to be completely imported. Create the track number of each song according to your preferred order. Assign file names to each for easier storage system.
